Software giant Cascade HR has introduced a new advanced expenses module into its award-winning HR and payroll technology.

Cascade launches advanced expenses technology at HRSS 2018

"Were passionate about delivering best-in-class technology so, because our fundamental specialism is core HR, we approached Selenity to harness their market-leading expenses expertise."
Paul Sparkes

Expenses+ was revealed for the first time today, to delegates of the HR Software Show 2018 at Olympia, London.

Powered by Cascade in collaboration with expenses management specialist Selenity, Expenses+ is the result of a partnership that has been over six months in the making.

The cloud-based technology has been purposefully released to reduce companies’ expenses spend by up to 20%, improve efficiencies by as much as 80%, and ensure maximum policy and HMRC compliance.

This is not the first time Cascade has supported clients with their expenses management – there is already effective entry-level functionality within the vendor’s popular HRMS, as well as the CascadeGo product. But Expenses+ has been launched in response to the evolving requirements of customers and the wider market.

Cascade’s product director Paul Sparkes expands: “On average, one third of organisations’ employees have expenses to claim. For many businesses, our existing module handles this process more than sufficiently. But because our client base is becoming increasingly diverse, complex and sophisticated, we didn’t want to leave anyone’s needs unfulfilled.

“We’re passionate about delivering best-in-class technology so, because our fundamental specialism is core HR, we approached Selenity to harness their market-leading expenses expertise. We’re delighted with the result and early indications from the HR Software Show suggest HR and payroll professionals are also excited about what the partnership means.”

Designed to simplify the way organisations submit, authorise, reimburse and audit employee business expenses, Expenses+ is suitable for sector-wide clients of any size, and particularly those with colleagues in the field.

Key features include the ability to reduce overspend with accurate GPS mileage capture or postcode lookup journey validations; maximise VAT reclamation through precise claims with valid receipts; and avoid corporate risk with driver and vehicle checks using data sourced from the DVLA. Everything can be fully configured to suit companies’ individual policies and limits, plus the entire process can be managed from a smartphone to support an increasingly mobile and flexible UK working population.

A fully-outsourced expenses management model is also available.

“This is the latest example of our dedication to stripping HR and payroll teams of burdensome administration, whilst supercharging them with more compliance, cost-saving and efficiency potential in the process,” concludes Paul.

“We’re reducing manual processing and checking, removing the likelihood of policy breaches and ensuring everything is as it should be from a VAT perspective.”

Cascade is the UK's third largest provider of HR and payroll technology, having experienced growth of 20% pa over the last four years. In addition to high demand for the Cascade enterprise level product range, the business has also seen growth of 178% for CascadeGo – a solution targeted predominantly at smaller, growing organisations.

Adding a final thought, Deborah Saunby, Sales and Marketing Director from Selenity commented: “When Cascade approached us about a partnership we knew straight away the fit was right. We're both passionate about providing the very best technology, people and services to HR and payroll professionals.

“The development of Expenses+ represents an exciting opportunity to fulfil the expense management needs of Cascade's clients.”

The release of Expenses+ comes hot on the heels of Cascade’s successful Recruitment+ launch – in partnership with Networx – in 2017.
