Big Data App Will Hand Pick Students for Future Jobs

Big Data App Will Hand Pick Students for Future Jobs

""

While A-Level students anxiously await their fate, a disruptive technology start up has created an application which could change the way they are offered jobs in the future.

Knowsley based JobsTheWord – one of the pioneers in the use of big data analytics in the recruitment industry – has created MapUp, a tool designed for employers to instantly view where their perfectly matched prospective candidates reside.

The app is aimed at recruiters looking to get ahead of the game when it comes to discovering the UK’s top talent. Using a series of complex algorithms, MapUp has the ability to discover anyone who has an online presence matching the specific skill set required by employers.

The example shown is an illustration of where 2014 graduates with a first class degree in Mathematical Sciences reside in the UK, a valuable resource for companies looking to recruit high quality interns during the current shortage of young people with STEM subjects.

MapUp greatly enhances the big data recruitment services already on offer by JobsTheWord. It now enables employers to instantly see where potential candidates matching the exact skills and experience criteria they require are, before directly reaching out to them personally. This not only increases the quality of applicant, it radically reduces the time and cost of recruitment cutting out the agency route.

JobsTheWord Technical Director and co-founder, Will Crandle, explained: “MapUp is currently being used by a select number of our clients. We’ve had some great feedback and when combined with our own ideas, this will help us define the most useful features.

He continued: “Our technology enables us discover the answers to questions previously unavailable without months of research and intensive manual work – extremely useful analytics at users’ fingertips’.”

JobsTheWord was founded in 2011 by IT specialists Will Crandle and Lee Harding, along with Keith Jones, an experienced entrepreneur and angel investor.

JobsTheWord’s services have attracted a wide variety of big brand clients including Easyjet, HP, Amazon, World Pay, Samsung and O2, but also supports SMEs and startups.
