Open Declare is the world's first fully transparent, real-time political donations technology! Prior to this, the existing donation workflows were paper-based, slow, error-prone and required a lot of manual processing by its staff members. After many recent events involving political members and donations, it just shows how transparency could single-handily improve the democratic process.
As of now, there are two implementations of Open Declare in Australia providing political transparency to the public - The Electronic Disclosure System (EDS) in Queensland and the Funding and Disclosure Portal (FAD) in South Australia. Both systems have been used in the 2017 and 2018 elections for the politicians to lodge their donations and the public to see all in real-time.
CEO and Founder Igor Stjepanovic said, “We firmly believe in the power of open data and having an open and transparent government. With such technological advances, the dream of real-time data sharing and having 100% transparency is achievable today. While we have only launched in Queensland and South Australia first, our market opportunity is all around the world. Through technology such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, over the next 5-10 years, we will see unprecedented levels of analytical capabilities, meaning more exciting times are ahead for us!”.
